March 24 - Melissa HB is an Indie Dyer & a stay at home Mom to two daughters. In her words, "There's nothing that beats the feeling of being allowed that creative freedom with your own business. When I started dyeing yarn it was all about developing this creativity and selling my creativity. Then I registered my business name and transitioned to a creative business. My true passion lays with being Indie and not commercial. I don't write down Dye recipes, I don't calculate the volume of my water, and I eye ball the temperature of my pot. I really fly by the seat of my pants and put caution to the wind when I dye. ... Where the Magic Happens: I tend to exclusively kettle dye or pot dye my yarn. There's a magical quality to dyeing yarn that way. No two skeins are the same. The way the dyes layer and mix, it's inspiring and magical." To view her magic, go to: prairiedyestudio.com OR come meet Melissa in person at The Fibre Nook on Saturday, March 24 from 10 am to 4 pm. Melissa will be bringing a selection of her stitch markers & bags along with her yarn offerings.
