If you have a fear of taking scissors to your knitting, then this workshop is for you. In the first session, you will learn about the advantages of steeking and how to set up a steek in your stranded colourwork project. You will be given a pattern for a cowl and cup cozies (your choice) works in dk weight yarn that we will steek in the second session. The second session will focus on the cutting, reinforcing, and covering of your steeked stitches as wel as how to pick up stitches for a finishing ribbed band. This will be a hands on workshop.
Saturdays, Apr. 6 & 13, 10am to 12 noon
You must already know how to work in stranded colourwork in the round to complete the class project.
Advanced beginner – intermediate.

TECHNIQUES TO LEARN
Anatomy of a steek, preparing for and cutting, and finishing.
- Suggested yarn is Haynes Creek Heathers. You will need 1 50g ball of the background colour and one each of the two foreground colours. (You can choose to keep the foreground colour to just one.)
- Needles: 3.75 mm needles to work in your preferred methods of DPNs or circular knitting. Sharp scissors.

Participants are welcome to bring their own supplies for the class.
Should supplies be required & bought in shop, a 10% discount will be applied to a one time purchase only, before or on the first day of class. Customers showing their TFN tote bag will receive an additional 5% discount.
