DESCRIPTION
In this class, participants will explore the rich tradition of stranded colourwork knitting. You will learn yarn management techniques, chart reading, and what type of yarn to use in colourwork knitting.

PREREQUISITE
You should be comfortable with knit, purl, casting on, binding off & knitting in the round.

TECHNIQUES TO LEARN
Best practices in colourwork knitting, basic hat construction, how to read charts, basic colour theory, & blocking your stranded colourwork knitting.
MATERIALS
100 g worsted weight yarn for main colour
50 g worsted weight yarn for contrast colour
4.0 mm needles for working small circumference
4.5 mm needles for working small circumference
Stitch markers
HOMEWORK
Prior to class, the student should knit the brim of the hat. Using smaller needles, cast on 90 sts. Place marker & join for knitting in the round, being careful not to twist.
Round 1: *K2, p1; rep from * to end of rnd.
Repeat Round 1 until work measures 4 inches/ 10 cm from cast on edge.
IMPORTANT NOTE 1
Participants are welcome to bring their own supplies for the class.
Should supplies be required & bought in shop, a 10% discount will be applied to a one time purchase only, before or on the first day of class. Customers showing their TFN tote bag will receive an additional 5% discount.
Staff will confirm the class registration details at time of discounted supplies purchase.
