Laurie Dolhan is the artist behind the Hook, Line & Tinker craft studio in Ketch Harbour, Nova Scotia. As part of her journey to date, Laurie has been a Jersey Girl, a Yukon Sourdough, & now she’s what some Nova Scotians refer to as a CFA (come-from-away). Like her favourite things, she has been lost, found, & creatively reworked. Throughout her life, she has always been making something or other. Craft has given her joy & comfort, & taught her patience too.
HL&T launched in October 2017 with a line of modern embroidery patterns & kits using Laurie’s own original illustrations. Her business is a reflection of her values - care of people, respect for the environment, & a deep desire to create something meaningful & real through a shared act of making.
As of July 2018, 5% of HL&T’s profits are donated to help women & children experiencing homelessness.
Each embroidery kit includes:
- pre-printed pattern on unbleached cotton fabric
- 15cm (6”) embroidery hoop
- embroidery floss
- embroidery needle
- instructions
- stitch guide
