About the Artist:
Murriel is an Edmonton-based embroidery artist. She, like many others, was looking for a way to pass the time during the quarantine of 2020. With no real desire to make sourdough, she found embroidery.
Murriel has now developed her own unique style of embroidery that sets her apart from the crowd. Creating her own embroidery series she calls “Embroidmonton” inspired by iconic Edmonton landmarks, Murriel has been able to share her love of her hometown through her art. She also has experience with threadpainting (as seen in her pet portraits) and loves mixing medias such as incorporating watercolour backgrounds on her pieces.
